           Garden Sampler Quilt Design by Lori Smith
Block of the Month.  This is rich in color and texture.  The background for each of the 9 squares is silk homespun, the appliques are textured, hand-dyed wool, stitched with Aurafil wool thread and the border and sashing are cotton.

Traditional Rug Hooking
This is a beginning traditional rug hooking class using a rug hook and wool fabric to make Early American hooked rugs.  Choose from a kit , a design in one of our many books or bring in your own design to be made into a kit.  Class $15.00, supplies  extra.

This is one of the purses that gets the most comments and a class many have requested.  The pattern is by Kathy Campbell of Heart to Hand.  Stop in before the class day to choose your colors.

          Needle Felting
 
Needle-felt an adorable little bunny or lamb.    This is a beginners class where you will learn the basics of needle felting.  Class fee and supplies $30.00.

        Punch Needle Rug Hooking
 
This type of rug hooking is done with an Oxford punch needle and yarn.  It is quicker than traditional rug hooking but with that same Early American/New England traditional look.
Stop in and choose a kit or a design that you would like.
Saturday June 26, 9 - 12  Class fee $15.00. supplies and materials extra.
                         Open Rug Hooking
Having a group to rug hook with is a great way to stay motivated and be inspired.  Bring a lunch and stay the day or just an hour or two.  It’s such fun to share our hobby!!

A new book by Jo Ann Mullaly featuring crazy quilting and folk art applique.  This is the new applique project we will be working on.  Come in for the supply list, I bet you already have quite a few things in your stash you could use.  We will be meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1:00pm beginning on April 13 OR the 2nd Saturday at 9:00am beginning April 10.(one Saturday exception is June 19th, which is  the 3rd Saturday)      Book $24.95

       Punch Needle Embroidery
 
This is the perfect take along for keeping your hands busy when you have some waiting time, airport layover, doctor/dentist appointments or if you want a project for when you’re at home watching TV.  Easy to learn and beautiful results.  Some of you have mentioned that you bought all the supplies but haven’t tried it yet, well, bring in your supplies and I’ll help you get started. Class fee $10.00.

This has been a very busy and exciting summer.  Jan Horn, of Goosebeary’s Village Quilter,  has joined me at Holly & Ivy.   Now the shop has a beautiful selections of quilting fabrics along with the wonderful wools.  We are working on a new class schedule for the fall which should be available in the next few weeks.  In the meantime you are always welcome to schedule a class for yourself or with your friends and family.
